Volume II - Marshes

After a few months of cold weather and snow, January gave us a quick glimpse into what we were so eager to enjoy. We decided to take advantage of the one weekend of manageable weather and try our luck out on the river.

The first day of the weekend we tried a spot we had heard was decent for this time of year, however, we were not as profitable as some claimed to be. After making our way through the snow covered banks in the shadow of a canyon for the entire day, we decided to re-evaluate our options and go with the backup plan. Enter, the Ruby Marshes.

The area holds a special place to us as we had taken a day trip to explore the area early in our relationship and loved it so much we came back a summer later to camp. After a couple fishing trips to this area, we were armed with knowledge, the proper flies, and some determination to catch a fish.

The day could not have been any better. The sun was out and the fish were biting. Volume II - Marshes, showcases the pristine day and a couple of the trout we were able to land. Enjoy!
